I have tried this and the HP Sprocket. I prefer this one. The prices of the consumables are more reasonable and the set up was easier. We used it at a party and it was a hit with everyone. They loved being able to quickly and easily connect and print.The photos are crisp, but have more green tones than on devices so thatâs one thing to consider.

Like A Magic Trick
My wife and I love this little photo printer, great for one off projects, scrapbooks, and quick gifts. The real magic is bringing it to a holiday party and instantly printing off group photos for everyone to take home. These are real photo also, not like those other instant photo printers where the ink will fade and the picture quality will degrade to nothing over the years. The App isn’t too bad either, you can make fancy collages to fit more into one photo, toss it a cheap frame for a quick gift or make more symmetrical collage to cut the individual pictures for smaller photos like for a journal or scrapbook.

Fantastic Printer but brighten those shadows!
The prints from this printer look great! They print closer to color (even compared to my local camera store!) however I do recommend brightening shadows; this printer will lose details in shadows. This can connect directly to your devices, via the app, or over wifi, helpful for somebody that prints from the phone and the laptop. You do have less customizability (including crop) when you’re printing on the computer and the app disconnects from my printer every time I change connecting type or when I shut the printer off. Overall though, the product is nice.Pro:true to color printsgreat image quality”fast” (for a sublimation print)prints aren’t too expensive (about 108 for $32) and refills typically come with the ink cartridge note: I did see that there are two versions from canon but they appear to be the same quality in printsCon:details can be lost in shadows (brighten your photos to avoid that)limited sheets in the photo paper load (tedious if you’re printing a lot)finicky app and connection sometimesprinting paper can be hard to find sometimes (currently I only see them on amazon, no brick or mortor shops stock them)

I love this product! It’s so awesome and easy to use. Being able to print good resolution 4×6 photos from your phone saves so much time and allows me to do so much. I had a wedding shower and the guest of honor took a photo with all the new family members she met and all the pictures quickly went into a take home scrapbook. I’ve been able to print other projects as well in a short amount of time. And it has gotten my older children to do photo projects of their own. Even the kids’ friends who are over have been overjoyed they could go home with a photo from their phone. It does like the phone to be near it, not in the other room. It takes about 30 seconds to print each photo because it does four passes. Photos turn out great. Buy extra cartridge/paper kits because this will be a popular item in your home too. You have to print photos from your phone through the Selphy app. It even does light adjustments so some photos print better than they were taken.

The convenience of having this photo printer has made it much simpler and easier to print our photos. We wait for the photo paper and refills to go on sale and stock up, can usually get them anywhere from $0.30 to $0.45 per print. Considering it’s right in your home and you’re more likely to use it, it’s worth the premium vs sending 300 photos to Costco or Walmart, waiting 2-6 days, either picking it up or delivered, then sorting through everything, etc etc.This is quick, convenient and the quality is 85-90% of what you want. You will most likely require some adjustment on the photos you print, I find it tends to darken the contrast, but adjustable in the app and in the settings of the printer. Have tried it with WiFi and Bluetooth printing from laptops, tablet and phones, working for all 3.If you have a mesh network there are some wifi shenanigans around APs and SSID, the printer doesn’t like multipoint, so disable a few APs until it connects, then you’re all set. Happens only 1 out of 10 times when connecting to WiFi to print from laptop; otherwise it’s best to print off of phones or SD Cards from the printer.Will update this review if things change. Printed over 100 photos thus far, and happy with the result.

I’ve been really happy with this compact photo printer. I was using an Instax printer for years prior but was wanting something that printed photos that were a bit bigger. I thought about getting the larger format instax printer but honestly the price of the instax prints and lack of updated ports (use of micro USB) made this very off putting for me. I ended up picking up the Canon Selphy and I’m so happy I did! While it’s definitely not as compact as the instax set ups, it’s still something you can pack away for a trip if you want it with you, particularly if you’re going over seas and have a check in luggage. I used this to make prints for relatives while I was in Asia and it was a big hit. The photos out of this are quite excellent when you consider how quick the print. Within a 30 seconds or so you have a high quality 4×6 print in your hand.The price per print is not bad at all when you buy in bulk. It really makes a big difference taking your photos from a phone screen to printed on a physical medium. Honestly something every photographer should have. 100% would recommend!
