Very nice printer
Iâve had this up and running for about a week. It was very easy to set up even to AirPrint without working thru the app. Very fast printing even using card stock, although it makes a noise as it pulls out the card stock to print but does a nice job. Have not yet tried to print photos or to fax, but will update if there is anything worth noting.

This is a great printer
I’ve been using HP printers for about 25 years. I’ve never really loved them, but they worked okay for a few years, they were aesthetically pleasing, and the price was decent. When the last one died, I looked at HP again, but I really didn’t like their new printer designs and their ink is junk and WAY overpriced. I decided I would try a different brand. The Brother printer checked all the boxes that I was looking for and it takes up less space on my desk. After using it for about three months, I can tell you that I like it a lot more than any of the HP printers I have used over the years. The prints and the scans look great, the software is simple, setup was a breeze, and ink is less expensive than HP (I’m still using the starter ink after three months of almost daily use). If you’re a Brother customer or thinking of becoming one, this is definitely a worthy contender in the printer market. I just wish I would have dropped HP and went with Brother a long time ago.

I really like the overall quality of this Brother Multi function machine! I bought the ‘factory renewed’, and it looks and functions like new.PROGreat size for my home office.Plenty fast and quite for me.Easy to use once you set it up without any documentation.Saved $30 by buying refurbished.Con -Advertised as “White” they sent me “Black”.Amazon said box contained:”Quick Setup Guide- Product Safety Guide -Reference Guide -Warranty Card & Telephone Cable for FAX. ALL of these items are missing.There is a receptacle for ethernet but I can’t find any set up reference, so I am strictly wireless.Fortunately YouTube had videos or I would still not know what to do with the Plastic Orange dongle stuck in Ink receptacle.The Software, & Firmware, registration process is cumbersome.

Frustrating because of INK issues!
I really wanted to like this printer! I have heard good things about Brother, and truthfully the installation was easy, and I liked that I could print from my phone too. Here’s the issue that killed the deal for me – multiple times the printer tells me I’m out of ink. Yesterday I put in a yellow cartridge – but I pulled out an entirely full yellow cartridge – only to replace it with another one that was all the way full. I printed one sheet of paper, which was black and white. Then today I go to print something time sensitive so I can sign it and scan it… and the printer tells me blue is out. I pop out the blue cartridge (which is full!) and replace it with another full, on-brand ink cartridge and the printer isn’t recognizing it’s own ink. I turn it off, reset everything, still the same issue. I have had issues like this all along. Although I’ve had the printer 16 months, I’ve used less than 100 pages for printing and have gone through 3 different cycles or more of each color. I’m SO FRUSTRATED. And after I tried to fix it today with the last blue color, the entire screen of the printer quit working. I’m just done. I have to drive to my office in a different city just to print a document because of this printer! Don’t get it, you can’t rely on it. Go with something else.

Good color and print speed
Although I made a couple of mistakes setting it up (a changed PW!), I was able to get it going quickly and was able to finish our Christmas letters. I almost went with an Epson Eco-tank, but glad I went with the less costly Brother. Thanks to Amazon’s quick and efficient return policy I was able to return the Epson.

Me llegó con muchos detalles de maltrato como se puede ver en las fotos, sin cintas de embalajes, sin plástico protector en la pantalla, sin tapones de seguridad en dónde van los cables. En dónde escanea estaba un poco tallado de la parte de apoyo. Supongo que porque la compré con descuento. No la devolvà porque realmente la necesitaba, al principio se trababa y me aparecÃa que tenÃa atascon, la revisaba y seguÃa con el mismo problema, hasta que la voltie y vi que en el riel habÃa un tapón anaranjado de una entrada de cable. Sin contar todo lo anterior funciona perfecto, más rápida que la que tenÃa, imprime perfecto a doble cara, la calidad de las copias y escaneo tu las eliges, la pantalla touch es genial. Lo malo es el material de dicha pantalla es muy sensillo. La tinta de los cartuchos que vienen en la caja me alcanzó para muchas impresiones y copias. Si no hubiera sido por los detalles con lo que llegó yo le pondrÃa 5 estrellas, realmente vale la pena.

Don’t get me wrong.. it’s a terrific printed,. and compared to my old Brother that has lasted me over 10 years and is still working fine, this one is a lot faster.. like super fast.The glitch was that when I tested out the scanner, it would only work in one direction.. If I used the computer option to scan, it worked great, but when I used the button on the printer’s LCD, it would not work.There was an obscure message to check the firewall in the settings if there was a problem (what settings?? on the computer or printer? where, how?) I checked both and didn’t see anything out of wack.Then I thought, maybe it’s because I’m using Chrome to download? or maybe it’s because I accepted some free software from Brother when I was setting up??Anyhow, this took me the better part of the afternoon.I ended up re-downloading using Firefox, and did not accept the free software. It still didn’t work… but then…I tried it two more times not changing anything and the third time it recognized my computer and worked. I wish I could tell you why, but I have no idea.I had tried to Google a solution and there were a lot of hits so definitely I’m not the only one that has had this problem, but it’s all good now.Oh Brother!
