Nice, but a little confusing to set up.
Compact scanner/ printer works very well. It was a little difficult to connect to my home wi-fi but I persisted then in no time it was working like a charm. As with anything, the buttons are confusing as was the digital display. Just play with it and itâs very easy even for a senior thatâs falling behind the progression of technology. I chose the Canon as it is a quality name and you donât have to buy a subscription for refills of inks. I didnât want to mess with that. The color and black/white cartridges that are easy to insert. I bought an extra set of print cartridges because they were a nice price and were suggested to fit my Canon printer/scanner. It is easy to insert paper. Nice purchase. Nice quality fir the price. You wonât be disappointed.

Not that easy to connect
Most of the set up was simple. Print quality is very good. Printer is very quiet. Instructions on installing ink cartridges are not clear, Color goes on the left, Black on the right, but it does not tell you that, just says to install the cartridges. I chose this unit because I need a USB connection. All the instructions I could find on-line, all the instructions that came with it, all the printer’s prompts for set-up are for Wi-Fi, even my computer wanted a Wi-Fi PIN (which it said came with the owner manual; NOT) to continue installation. The secret is, if you need to use a USB connection, just plug it in, cancel any computer prompts, ignore any printer prompts for Wi-Fi. It will install by itself.

its PERFECT. especially for a college student like me or anyone who wants a great printer
I really love this printer! I got the pink one. It was sooo easy to set up. The instruction booklet was simple and fast. Installing the ink cartridges was easy (I had never done it before in this kind of printer) as well as everything else – extremely easy to set up and connect wirelessly to my laptop. You just follow the instructions in the book, then it gives you a website to go to and download the compatible software to your laptop from the official canon website – and then that’s it. I set mine up by myself with ease. It looks amazing – prints well and with good quality – I just printed a cat photo on regular paper and it came out great. Printing photos on actual glossy photo paper improves the quality immensely – as I saw in a youtube video by a guy who tested this very printer. The only advice I would give is to package the printer more discreetly possibly with “FRAGILE” labels all over as it was delivered in it’s standard canon box so everyone outside could see what it was. At the same time, they may do this so people handling the package at Amazon and with the mail people will handle the box accordingly. Not sure- I didn’t really mind.. just something to note. Maybe try to have it delivered on a specific day so you can be home to grab it. I really really love my purchase and it will be perfect for my sophomore year of college for printing out papers I type and for printing study material and taking copies of textbooks etc. Really I needed it last year too – but I have it now!

Impresora complicada de llevar a cabo la instalación . la información impresa que viene en la caja es muy escasa . Solo explica como imprimir y como sacar copias pero no explica como escanear un documento (se necesita un SW especial de Canon) .La conexión a la red wifi fue manual y muy complicada debido al pequeño display y secuencia de teclas que hay que oprimir para definir el nombre de una red . Si el nombre de la red es alfa numerico, el setup es complejo .No pude conectarla al router mesh de la casa por lo que solo pude hacerlo directo al ruteador del proveedor de servicio de internet por lo que necesito imprimir cerca del ruteador.No trae cable para conectar a la computadora fisicamente por lo que se requiere contar con un cable especial (no es USB) .La impresión es lenta una vez que se envia el documento a imprimir .Definitivamente buscaria otra opción mucho mas “user friendly”
